This 1951 has just completed an extensive and thourough two year restoration. The bike was restored from a complete motorcycle, it is not a parts bike. The engine has been completely rebuilt, balanced and blueprinted, belly numbers are matching. The transmission was completely torn down and rebuilt to as-new specs, every gear is perfect. All nuts and bolts are correct CP 1038 and not aftermarket reproductions, the real deal. The sheet metal is all authentic and original, wheels and rims are Kelsey Hayes, Harley Davidson spokes (in CAD plating) and authentic star hubs. All parkerizing and CAD plating on the bike is historically accurate.
The peacock-blue paint was computer matched from an original can of Harley paint, it is single stage and without clear coat, flawless and without chips/dings/etc. All emblems and trim are authentic Harley Davidson as well. The sealed beam headlight is original along with taillight lens. Speedometer was reconditioned using NOS speedometer face, bezel, and lens.
Aftermarket parts on the bike are the tires (Coker reproductions), and portions of the wiring harness. We can furnish Goodyear tires for the concourse/purist consumer for additional cost above the winning price of auction.
